Thank you for registering for the 23rd Delegate Convention on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Due to the pandemic and the subsequent proclamation, we will be holding the Delegate Convention on Zoom. Please read the instructions below carefully.

After you register online, you will receive an email confirming your registration (Subject Line: UNITE HERE Local 5 23rd Delegate Convention Confirmation). This email contains the link to join the Delegate Convention via Zoom. You MUST use this link to join. This link is unique to you and cannot be shared with anyone else, nor can anyone else share their link with you.
We strongly encourage you to log onto Zoom on a computer or tablet with reliable internet connection. The Convention will be approximately four hours long including registration time, so your phone battery may not last and you may get tired holding your phone for that long. Even with laptops, be prepared to be near an outlet with your charger in case you need to plug-in.
If you are not using Zoom and are calling in, call from the phone number that you submitted to us when you registered online for the Convention. This is how we will verify you.

Login to Zoom before check-in. In order for us to verify you at check-in, you MUST have your full name and property in your display name (e.g. Winnie the Pooh, HHV). Please change your display name BEFORE you check-in. Click here for a list of properties with their abbreviations. Please use the correct abbreviation for your property. If you hold multiple roles and are unsure, please call Marsha at (808) 284-6635 and she will assist.
Here are instructions on how to change your display name BEFORE joining the Convention:

Prepare the following before check-in:
- Make sure your internet connection or phone signal is strong.
- Make sure your device is plugged in or is fully charged.
- Find some place comfortable and quiet to setup your computer or tablet.
- Have enough food, water, and snacks.
- Have a notebook or paper and pen to take notes.
Check-in begins at 8:15 am. The Delegate Convention will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Please arrive early as we will need to verify and check-in every delegate individually via Zoom.
When you join the Convention on Zoom, you will be put into a waiting room and will be transferred to the main room once we have verified you.
In order for us to verify you, you MUST have your full name and property in your display name (e.g. Winnie the Pooh, HHV). If you do not have this in your display name, we will instruct you to log off and change your display name. See the instructions above on how to change your display name.
If you are not using Zoom and are calling in, you will also be put into a waiting room and will be transferred to the main room once we have verified you. When you registered for the Convention, you should have entered the phone number that you would be calling from. This is how we will verify you.
The Delegate Convention will last for approximately four hours. Be prepared to stay for the entire Convention. Because we have to verify everyone who enters the Zoom Convention, we will not allow people to repeatedly enter and exit the Convention. Once you are logged in, please do not log out of Zoom until the Convention ends.
Voting will be done using the polling function on Zoom. Only seated (current in dues) delegates will be able to vote. The motions that need to be voted on will pop up on your screen automatically.
If you are not using Zoom and are calling in with your phone, we will ask you to unmute yourself and verbally say your vote.
