Congratulations to Ilikai hotel workers on ratifying their new contract and securing the Waikiki Standard set by Hilton strikers in 2024! Before ratifying, over 100 Local 5 workers and community members took to the street in Waikiki and rallied at the Ilikai Hotel for International Worker’s Day on May 1st. Even after almost two years of working without a contract, Ilikai workers did not give up and were ready to do whatever it took–including walking out on strike–to win. Ilikai workers won their new contract after months of petitions, delegations, and rallies to show management they were serious about fighting for a contract they deserve.
