National Hyatt union agreement covers Hawaii

(Honolulu Star-Advertiser) Labor union UNITE HERE and Hyatt Hotels Corp. have announced a national agreement resolving longstanding disputes.

Two Hotel Protests Held In Waikiki

(KITV 4) Employees at the Modern Honolulu have been without a contract since the hotel changed hands in 2011, while union workers at the Pacific Beach have been without a contract for a decade. On Wednesday, many workers rallied in front of their hotels to let management know they want a deal.

More hotels settle with Unite Local 5

(Pacific Business News) Unite Here Local 5 says it is nearing settlements for the remaining 25 percent of its members still working without a labor contract more than a year-and-a-half after those contracts — representing about 6,000 Hawaii hotel workers — expired.
