Walden Pagdilao was working kitchen prep at Turtle Bay Resort but was being paid as a fry cook, which is a lower job classification. He worked with his committee leader Raymond Dixon (pictured here on the right) to fight for and win $800 in back pay—all without filing a grievance. Good job!

Hilton reservation agent gets warning expunged

Hilton Hawaiian Village reservation agent Lisa Stone was given a verbal warning for supposedly not following protocol. She worked with her Shop Stewards Cleo and Kaleo to investigate and present that there wasn’t protocol in place to begin with. As a result, her warning was expunged.

Hilton Hawaiian Village employee awarded bar porter position

Hilton Hawaiian Village employee Austin Haynal was denied a bar porter position, which was given to someone from the outside instead. He filed a grievance with the Contract Enforcement Team, which advised Hilton that Austin had completed the bartender course at HARIETT. As a result, Austin was awarded the bar porter position.

Rainbow Lani server wins back pay

Jian Heng Mo is a server at the Rainbow Lani in Hilton Hawaiian Village. With the help of the Contract Enforcement Team, he won 4 hours at the short shift rate plus service charges after he wasn’t called in for a shift: a total of $174.28. Congratulations!
