Hale Nani workers sent home after calling for more staffing

Hale Nani workers are fighting for more staffing to better care for their kupuna patients. They proudly wore shirts calling for more staffing to work; it is company policy that on every payday is casual dress day. The company recently changed the policy to restrict employees from wearing union shirts. Workers refused to back away from their belief that management cannot discriminate against them wearing union shirts. Management sent home everyone wearing the union shirts. They will return to work with no discipline. Meanwhile, the Union has filed unfair labor practice charges to recover the loss of one day’s pay.
