Our #MarriottStrike is going great! We made the front page news two days in a row. Workers are stepping up as leaders on the picket lines—leading chants, marshaling, leafleting, and more.
Other victories from yesterday:
- Maui Councilmember Elle Cochran, a longtime supporter of Local 5, joined the Sheraton Maui picket line.
- More union leaders joined our picket lines, including UFCW Local 480 President Pat Loo and Iron Workers’ George Paris.
- The Association of Flight Attendants, which books hundreds of flight attendant crew rooms each night in Honolulu, announced that they will not cross our picket lines.
- UPW members donated water to the Sheraton Maui workers.
- Huge numbers of Local 5 members from Kaiser, Hilton, Waikiki Marriott, etc. are joining our lines and donating food.
- Marriott’s stock has dropped since our nationwide strike began and is trading at its lowest price in nearly 12 months.
